Arava International Film Festival in Arava/Tzukim
An outdoor film festival held each November inside the Ashosh Nature Reserve near Tzukim in the Central Arava, running since 2012. Roughly thirty films, spanning award-winning international titles, new Israeli cinema, children's programming and restored classics, screen on a large outdoor screen set against desert cliffs, with audiences seated on purpose-built tiered seating under the open sky.
Since 2012, the Arava International Film Festival has staked out a screening format that few other film events attempt: an outdoor cinema built inside the Ashosh Nature Reserve, on the banks of Wadi Ashosh near the community of Tzukim in the Central Arava.
