Jerusalem Writers Festival in Jerusalem
Held at Mishkenot Sha'ananim, a Jerusalem guesthouse and cultural center founded in 1974 with literature as a founding focus, the Jerusalem International Writers Festival launched in 2008 as a biennial event before moving to an annual schedule. Each edition gathers roughly forty writers from Israel and abroad for public readings, conversations and panels across the campus and additional city venues.
The Jerusalem International Writers Festival takes place on the campus of Mishkenot Sha'ananim, a guesthouse and cultural center that opened in 1974 just outside the Old City walls and made literature one of its founding focuses, once hosting Saul Bellow among other prominent visiting writers in its early years.
