Mekudeshet Jerusalem Season of Culture in Jerusalem
Mekudeshet, formerly the Jerusalem Season of Culture, was born during the Second Intifada as an arts project aiming to connect Jerusalem's divided communities, commissioning new work across disciplines that responds directly to the city, and now runs across a full summer month including its nested Sacred Music Festival.
Mekudeshet, formerly known as the Jerusalem Season of Culture, emerged during the difficult years of the Second Intifada as a deliberately hopeful cultural project intended to use art to build connections across Jerusalem's deep social divides, between Arab residents of the city's east side, ultra-Orthodox communities, secular Israelis and everyone in between.
