Midburn in Negev
Conceived in 2011 by Israelis who had attended Nevada's Burning Man, Midburn held its first edition in June 2014 near Sde Boker, drawing about 3,000 participants from a dozen countries. As an officially recognized Burning Man regional event, it follows the same leave-no-trace, gifting-based principles, building and fully dismantling a temporary desert city each year.
A group of Israelis who had attended the original Burning Man event in Nevada began planning a local version in 2011, and the resulting festival, Midburn, held its first edition in June 2014 near Sde Boker in the Negev desert, drawing about 3,000 participants from a dozen countries.
