BIM Taloro Carnival in Gavoi
The Carnevale del BIM Taloro, running since 1997, rotates among thirteen Barbagia towns along Sardinia's Taloro river basin, each bringing its own traditional Carnival mask to a shared parade. Gavoi's own figures are the Tumbarinos, masked drummers distinct from neighboring Mamoiada's Mamuthones, and the weekend leads into Gavoi's separate local Fat Thursday rite, Sa Jovia Lardajola.
Thirteen towns across central Sardinia's Barbagia region take turns hosting a traveling showcase of their own distinct Carnival masks, a shared event known as the Carnevale del BIM Taloro that has run since 1997.
