Rome Film Fest in Rome
Rome's autumn film festival launched in 2006 at Renzo Piano's Auditorium Parco della Musica, opening with a red carpet that included Nicole Kidman and Harrison Ford. Renamed Festa del Cinema di Roma in 2015 and run by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, it holds FIAPF-recognized competitive status distinct from Venice's higher international prestige tier.
Martin Scorsese's The Departed had its European premiere at an Auditorium built only a few years earlier when Rome launched its own film festival in 2006.
