Jamaica Kite Festival in St. Ann
Held every Easter Monday at Seville Heritage Park in St Ann's Bay since 2005, the Jamaica International Kite Festival pairs a daytime kite-flying competition and family fun day with an evening stage show. Box kites, boat kites and the traditional fifty-cent kite fill the sky over the heritage property's pastureland before local recording artists take the same grounds after dark.
Seville Heritage Park in St Ann's Bay hosts the Jamaica International Kite Festival every Easter Monday, a date chosen because the Easter weekend traditionally doubles as Jamaica's spring kite-flying season, when box kites, boat kites and the flat, string-tailed pattern known locally as the fifty-cent kite fill the sky over the old sugar-estate grounds.
