Ananse SoundSplash Storytelling Festival in Kingston

Founded in 1998 by Dr Amina Blackwood-Meeks, Ananse Soundsplash is the Caribbean's longest-running storytelling festival, named for the West African and Caribbean trickster spider Anansi. Organized by the Storytelling Foundation of Jamaica, it pairs live oral storytelling with an education-focused conference and now streams internationally alongside its Kingston programming.

Ananse Soundsplash traces back to 1998, when storyteller Dr Amina Blackwood-Meeks founded what has since become the Caribbean's longest-running storytelling festival.
