GenXS Jouvert in Kingston

GenXS, the Jamaica-based sister band to Miami Carnival's GenX, stages its jouvert as the branded Immortals Jouvert, giving each carnival season its own paint-party theme, such as 2026's Shocking Vibes. A 2024 Gleaner report credited GenXS with beating Bacchanal Jamaica for that year's informal jouvert crown, based on its paint, powder, water, foam and goodie-bag offering.

GenXS operates in Jamaica as the sister band to GenX, the largest carnival band at Miami Carnival, a Jamaican-founded bread-and-mas operation that built its reputation in South Florida over roughly two and a half decades before its founding director, Kibwe McGaan, brought a GenXS presentation home to Jamaica's own carnival season.
