Jamaica Pantomime Season in Kingston

The Little Theatre Movement's annual National Pantomime, a Kingston theatrical tradition dating to the LTM's founding in 1941 by Henry Fowler and Greta Bourke, traditionally opening on Boxing Day. Blending music, dance, comedy and Jamaican folklore with topical satire, it is the country's longest continuously running annual theatre tradition.

Henry Fowler and Greta Bourke founded the Little Theatre Movement in 1941 to raise funds for a permanent theatre building and to give Jamaican drama an institutional home, and their very first production, Jack and the Beanstalk, opened that same season adapting an English pantomime tradition for a Jamaican audience.
