Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition in Kingston

Run by the JCDC since 1963, the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition crowns thirteen Parish Queens each year before a National Coronation selects the overall winner. JCDC has removed swimsuit segments over time, judging entrants instead on leadership, cultural knowledge and community involvement as part of Jamaica's Emancipation and Independence celebrations each summer.

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission has run the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition since 1963, making it the country's oldest continuously operating national pageant and a fixture of the Emancipation and Independence season each summer rather than a stand-alone beauty contest.
