The story

Colour Festival in St Helier

A charity colour run and walk along St Helier's West Park beachfront in aid of Family Nursing and Home Care's paediatric palliative care team. Entrants complete a one-kilometre loop as many times as they choose, getting doused in coloured powder at stations along the way, before a communal powder-throwing finale closes the afternoon.

Runners, walkers and dancers loop a one-kilometre course along St Helier's West Park beachfront each spring, picking up a fresh coat of coloured powder at each station along the route.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

A school incentive scheme, sponsored by law firm Appleby, awards a cash prize to whichever school on the island signs up the highest percentage of its own pupils, turning a fundraising fun run into a mild inter-school competition

02

The mystery stays covered

The course itself is a repeatable one-kilometre beach loop rather than a fixed distance, so participants choose how many laps to run, walk or dance, and the event closes with a synchronised powder toss into the air rather than a conventional finish line
