The story

Jersey International Air Display in St Helier/St Aubin's Bay

First staged in 1952 as the Battle of Britain Air Display, this free four-hour flying show over St Aubin's Bay each September brings fast military jets, vintage warbirds including the Avro Lancaster and Spitfires, and civilian aerobatic teams together over the Jersey coastline each year.

The Jersey International Air Display traces its history back to 1952, when it began as the Battle of Britain Air Display, and has run continuously in the decades since, missing only 1954 across more than seven decades.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Continuity is the distinguishing feature: the display has run in almost all of the years since 1952 under its earlier name, the Battle of Britain Air Display, missing only a single year in over seventy years of history, and it remains free to watch from the open beaches and seafront of St Aubin's Bay rather than a ticketed enclosure

02

The mystery stays covered

The not-for-profit organizing structure channels proceeds to British service charities, linking the show's historic RAF and wartime aircraft, including the Lancaster and Spitfires, to a charitable purpose beyond entertainment
