Beneath the Baobabs Festival in Kilifi
A boutique new-year music and arts festival held in an indigenous baobab forest above Takaungu Creek in Kilifi County, formerly known as Kilifi New Year and founded by Distant Relatives Ecolodge as a small beach party. Now drawing around ten thousand attendees over three days each December 30 to January 1, its main stage sits beneath a roughly two-thousand-year-old baobab tree, with strict sustainability rules including a plastic ban and Leave No Trace ethic.
