Africa Nouveau Festival in Nairobi
An arts, music and culture festival held annually each March at the Ngong Racecourse Waterfront in Nairobi, grown out of the Blankets and Wine festival to broaden focus beyond music into visual art, fashion and food. Guided by the Afrobubblegum philosophy coined by filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu, celebrating African creativity as fun, fantastic and frivolous, the three-day event mixes concerts, DJ sets, art exhibitions and fashion shows.
Africa Nouveau Festival is an arts, music and culture festival held annually in Nairobi, typically in March, that grew directly out of the popular Blankets and Wine festival as organizers sought to shift focus beyond music alone toward a broader celebration of African creative disciplines, including visual art, fashion and food.
