Nairobi Biennale of Architecture and Arts in Nairobi
The inaugural Pan-African Biennale of Architecture, curated by Somali-Italian architect Omar Degan and organized by the Architectural Association of Kenya, bringing architects, designers and scholars from across Africa together for the first time. Held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre over roughly five days in early September under the theme Shifting the Center, From Fragility to Resilience, its programming spans climate change, vernacular knowledge and African architectural futures.
The Nairobi Biennale of Architecture and Arts refers to the inaugural Pan-African Biennale of Architecture, announced by the Architectural Association of Kenya and set to convene in Nairobi, bringing together architects, designers, artists and scholars from across Africa and its global diaspora for the first time under a single unified platform dedicated specifically to African architectural discourse.
