Kyrgyz Taigan Festival in Bokonbayevo/Naryn
Taigan sighthounds, a distinct Kyrgyz hunting-dog breed, are demonstrated in Bokonbayevo alongside golden eagles and mounted archery, but no standalone Kyrgyz Taigan Festival was confirmed separate from the village's existing Salbuurun and Birds of Prey gatherings, which already include taigan coursing displays as one part of a combined hunting-heritage program.
Taigan sighthounds, a distinct Kyrgyz hunting-dog breed native to the alpine Tian Shan region near the Chinese border, are used traditionally to flush and course prey such as foxes during hunts alongside golden eagles and mounted archers, and Bokonbayevo, Kyrgyzstan's main eagle-hunting village on Issyk-Kul's south shore, is the most likely place a visitor would actually see taigans perform.
