Uzgen Minaret Heritage Festival

Uzgen-Minara is an ethno-folklore festival staged at Uzgen's 11th-century Karakhanid minaret and mausoleum complex in Osh region, most clearly documented in a large 2021 staging tied to the 30th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. That edition drew President Sadyr Japarov, thousands of attendees, and folk performers, combining traditional music and dance with a formal push for the site's UNESCO recognition, though annual recurrence beyond that date is not confirmed.

The Uzgen complex, an 11th-century minaret and set of three mausoleums built during Karakhanid rule, stands as one of the oldest surviving monumental sites in the Turkic world, a status that Kyrgyzstan has used to anchor at least one large ethno-folklore festival at the site.
