Luang Prabang Film Festival in Luang Prabang
Founded in 2010, the Luang Prabang Film Festival is the world's only major festival dedicated solely to ASEAN cinema, running free screenings each December at the Sofitel Luang Prabang by day and the Handicraft Market square by night, alongside workshops and grants supporting regional filmmakers.
Founded in 2010 by American filmmaker Gabriel Kuperman, the Luang Prabang Film Festival built a niche for itself as the only major festival in the world dedicated solely to films from ASEAN member countries, giving Southeast Asian cinema a dedicated annual showcase inside one of the region's most storied heritage towns.
