Pha That Luang Wax Castle Procession in Vientiane

The wax castle procession, or Phasat Pheung, opens Vientiane's That Luang Festival with handmade beeswax miniature castles carried from Vat Simeuang to Pha That Luang. Temples, schools and villages spend days building the decorated structures, then parade them through the city in a candlelit merit-making march.
