Jomas Street Festival in Jurmala
The Jomas Street Festival fills Jurmala's 1.1-kilometre pedestrian promenade each mid-July with concerts, theatre performances, and festive fairs. Restaurants and cafe terraces along Jomas Street spill into the programme, giving the multi-day event a resort-town rhythm of open-air stages, artisan stalls, and street processions. It is one of the seaside city's signature summer gatherings, drawing residents and visitors strolling the dune-lined street after which the festival is named.
Jomas Street has been the beating pedestrian spine of Jurmala since the resort town's earliest days as a seaside retreat, its name reputedly drawn from the parallel lines that dunes leave in beach sand.
