ConTempo Festival

ConTempo is Lithuania's largest international performing arts festival, staging contemporary dance, theatre, and circus works from around twenty-three unconventional locations across Kaunas and its wider region each August. Since 2019 it has expanded into towns like Visaginas and Alytus, decentralizing access to international performance. A single edition can include roughly forty performances across some twenty-three locations, requiring visitors to plan carefully given the geographic spread across Kaunas and its wider district.

Since 2019, the international performing arts festival ConTempo has grown from a Kaunas-based initiative into one of Lithuania's most geographically ambitious summer cultural events, staging performances not only in Kaunas itself but across the wider Kaunas district and, in recent editions, extending into towns such as Visaginas, Kaisiadorys, Alytus, and Rokiskis.
