Open Air Konstfestival Lellingen in Lellingen
Open Air Konstfestival Lellingen is a multidisciplinary art festival held every year on Luxembourg's National Holiday in the village of Lellingen, inside the Naturpark Kiischpelt. Around one hundred artists paint live in an open-air competition, working on blank canvases or prepared pieces in full view of visitors, while street theatre, circus acts and music fill the rest of the program. Children's workshops and a focus on regional, sustainable products round out a day that draws more than 4,500 visitors.
Lellingen sits inside the Naturpark Kiischpelt, a rural, forested corner of Luxembourg better known for hiking trails than gallery openings, which is part of what makes its open-air art festival distinctive: rather than staging the event in a museum or city cultural quarter, organizers bring roughly a hundred painters into the village itself and let the landscape and the crowd become part of the creative process.
