Feast of Buddha, formally the Festivities of the Day of Buddha, is a public holiday observed on the 8th day of the fourth lunar month at Buddhist temples across Macao. The day commemorates the birth of Siddhartha Gautama through ceremonial bathing of Buddha statues, sutra recitals and Dharma lectures, with Pou Tai Un Monastery in Taipa serving as the principal center of festivities.
