Encounter in Macao Arts and Cultural Festival in World heritage buildings and community venues
Encounter in Macao is an autumn arts and cultural festival between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, staged from October through December across Macao's UNESCO World Heritage buildings, community public spaces and professional theatres. Now past its seventh edition, it runs in parallel with the GEG Lusofonia Festival and has drawn over 780 artists across more than 80 sessions in a given year.
From October through December each year, Macao's Cultural Affairs Bureau stages Encounter in Macao, an arts and cultural festival explicitly framed around exchange between China and the Portuguese-speaking world, using the city's UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre, community public spaces and professional theatres as its performance venues.
