Madagascourt Film Festival in Antananarivo/Mahajanga
Madagascourt (Rencontres du Film Court Madagasikara) is Madagascar's only dedicated film festival, founded in 2006 and held across Antananarivo and Mahajanga. Functioning as an informal film school, it offers free public screenings and workshops alongside the Panafrican Golden Zebu awards for documentary, fiction, animation and a national competition audience prize. The 20th edition runs in February 2026.
Founded in 2006, the Madagascourt Film Festival, formally known as the Rencontres du Film Court Madagasikara, occupies a singular place in Madagascar's cultural calendar as the country's only dedicated film festival.
