Festival Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur
Festival Kuala Lumpur, also branded KL Festival or KL Fest, is an annual multi-week cultural program aiming to reposition the capital's historic core as a creative hub, with the 2026 edition running more than 80 events across the city's heritage districts. Organized with backing that includes Kuala Lumpur City Hall, the festival mixes music, art, performance and public space activation designed to draw both residents and visitors back into downtown KL's older neighborhoods.
Kuala Lumpur's historic core, the older commercial and colonial-era districts that predate the glass towers of the Petronas Towers and KLCC, has spent recent decades competing for attention against the capital's newer, more polished commercial centers.
