Malaysia International Mask Festival in Kuala Lumpur
The Malaysia International Mask Festival was the first mask festival held in the country, staged over four days from August 13 to 16, 2015, at the Esplanade in KLCC Park, Kuala Lumpur. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture through the National Department for Culture and Arts, the festival was inspired by mask festivals in Italy and featured traditional masks from Malaysia's Orang Asli Mah Meri community alongside international performers.
The Malaysia International Mask Festival made its debut in August 2015, staged over four days from the 13th to the 16th at the Esplanade within KLCC Park in Kuala Lumpur, marking the first festival of its kind held anywhere in the country.
