Malta International Airshow in Luqa/Qawra/airfields
The Malta International Airshow is held at Malta International Airport in Luqa, site of the former RAF Luqa, having first flown over Marsamxett Harbour in September 1993 before relocating to the airport. Organised by the Malta Aviation Society, the show features military and civilian aircraft, aerobatic displays and static exhibits, with the 2025 edition drawing crowds for the return of the Red Arrows alongside German Eurofighters, Tornado jets and a Turkish F-16 team.
Luqa's runway has a longer and more consequential history than most airshow spectators realise as they watch jets streak overhead today.
