Malta Pride Week in Valletta
Malta Pride Week runs each September in Valletta, with the 2026 edition scheduled from 4 to 13 September, combining seminars, film screenings, exhibitions and human rights discussions with parties, concerts and drag shows. The centrepiece Pride Parade marches through Valletta's UNESCO-listed streets, drawing crowds of over 15,000, with a Pride Village set up in St George's Square offering local crafts, food and live music.
Malta's transformation on LGBTIQ rights over roughly the past decade has been one of the more striking social shifts anywhere in Europe, moving the country from a historically conservative, heavily Catholic legislative environment to a position consistently ranked as the continent's most LGBTIQ-friendly nation according to the ILGA Rainbow Index.
