La Paz Carnival in La Paz
Carnaval de La Paz is one of Mexico's oldest carnival celebrations, held in the Baja California Sur capital on the Sea of Cortez. Dating back generations, it features parades along the malecon, a crowned Carnival king and queen, floats, fireworks, and Juegos Florales, a traditional poetry competition tied to the carnival season.
