Guanajuato International Film Festival in San Miguel de Allende
Each year during the final week of July into early August, GIFF, the Guanajuato International Film Festival, spreads across San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato City as Mexico's largest film festival. Founded in 1998 by Sarah Hoch and Ernesto Herrera, the 2026 edition runs July 24 to August 2, offering screenings, workshops, conferences, tributes, premieres, concerts, and industry networking.
Each year, during the final week of July stretching into early August, two of central Mexico's most storied colonial cities, San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato City, become the joint stage for GIFF, the Guanajuato International Film Festival.
