The Romeria de la Virgen de Zapopan is one of Mexico's largest religious pilgrimages, held every October 12 as the small statue of Nuestra Senora de Zapopan is carried from Guadalajara's cathedral back to the Basilica of Zapopan after months spent visiting parishes across the metropolitan area.
