Targul de Paste Chisinau in Chisinau/Cathedral Bell Tower
Targul de Paste, the Easter Fair, is a seasonal gift fair held in central Chisinau near the Nativity of Christ Metropolitan Cathedral and its historic bell tower, built in 1836 and rebuilt in 1997. The fair coincides with Moldova's broader Easter light festivals and the tradition of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem reaching local churches, offering Easter gifts, crafts and seasonal goods around the cathedral grounds.
Targul de Paste occupies a specific and symbolically loaded stretch of central Chisinau: the grounds around the Nativity of Christ Metropolitan Cathedral and its historic bell tower.
