Monaco Medieval Christmas Nativity Trail in Monaco-Ville
The Monaco Medieval Christmas Nativity Trail, known locally as the Chemin des Creches, guides visitors through Monaco-Ville's Old Town from early December into early January. Launched in 2014 at Prince Albert II's request, the walking route sets nativity scenes representing traditions from five continents against the medieval backdrop of the historic quarter, pairing devotional Christmas imagery with centuries-old stone architecture.
Each December, Monaco-Ville's fortified old town takes on a second identity as a walking gallery of nativity scenes.
