Altai Eagle Festival in Altai/Bayan-Olgii
Held each October in and around Olgii town in the Altai Mountains, this Golden Eagle Festival showcases Kazakh falconry traditions estimated to be around 6,000 years old. Hunters compete in speed, agility and accuracy events while dressed in traditional attire, alongside horsemanship displays, in a practice recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2010.
