Khovd Multicultural Naadam in Khovd
Khovd's Naadam reflects the city's exceptional diversity: home to more than ten ethnic groups, including Khalkh and Myangad Mongols and Sunni Muslim Kazakhs, whose temples and mosques stand side by side. Alongside standard wrestling, archery and horse racing, Khovd adds Kazakh-style kokpar, or goat polo, with additional games held in surrounding communities including Buyant, Duut, Mankhan, Chandman and Dorgon.
Khovd Province stages a version of Naadam, Mongolia's Three Manly Games of wrestling, archery and horse racing, that looks noticeably different from the nationwide standard.
