Nomads Festival in Khui Doloon Khudag
Culture Naadam is an arts and heritage program run alongside the National Naadam horse races on the open steppe at Khui Doloon Khudag, 30 kilometers west of Ulaanbaatar, drawing more than 20,000 visitors each July 11-12. Organized by the Arts Council of Mongolia and the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture since 2008, it recreates a nomadic arts-and-crafts village.
Every July, the open steppe west of Ulaanbaatar fills with two different kinds of spectacle happening side by side.
