The story

Summer Tango Camp in Kolasin

Summer Tango Camp Kolasin is a 19-day tango intensive run by the Tango Natural Institute from July 7 to 25, 2026, based in the Biogradsko Lake area of northern Montenegro. The camp uses a flexible daily-pass system rather than a fixed package, priced from about 2 euros a day for youth and retirees up to about 4 euros a day for general admission, allowing dancers to join for single days or the full run.

Biogradska Gora National Park, in the mountains above the town of Kolasin in northern Montenegro, protects one of Europe's last remaining old-growth forests along with Biogradsko Lake, a glacial lake ringed by beech, fir and spruce.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

The camp's setting is unusual for a tango event: rather than a city studio, classes and practice sessions take place near Biogradsko Lake, one of Montenegro's glacial lakes inside Biogradska Gora National Park, surrounded by old-growth forest and mountains

02

The mystery stays covered

Its length, 19 consecutive days, allows a depth of practice rarely offered by weekend workshops, while the daily-pass pricing structure, from roughly 2 euros a day for youth and retirees up to about 4 euros for general admission, keeps the format accessible to dancers who can only attend part of the run

03

The city starts moving

Organized by the Tango Natural Institute, the camp combines structured tango instruction with the setting of a national park, pairing dance training with mountain scenery and lake air rather than an indoor studio environment
