Maslinijada in Stari Bar
Maslinijada, or Olive Day, is a November harvest festival staged at the ancient walls of Stari Bar, celebrating the olive-growing tradition that has shaped the region for millennia. Visitors sample fresh olive oil and table olives alongside cheese, prosciutto, wine and pastries, while local crafts, folk dance and music fill the fortress grounds, marking the close of the annual olive harvest around the historic Old Olive Tree of Mirovica.
Stari Bar, the old fortified town above the modern coastal city of Bar, has watched over olive groves for longer than most European institutions have existed.
