Purgatorije Tivat in Tivat
Purgatorije, the Festival of Mediterranean Theatre, is organized by the Cultural Center of Tivat and runs from mid-June to late August, making it the town's most important cultural event. The Center produces most of its own plays, often drawing on legends and true stories from life in Boka Bay, and also hosts guest theatre troupes, literary evenings and art exhibitions at the Tivat summer stage.
Purgatorije, formally the Festival of Mediterranean Theatre, occupies an unusually long stretch of the Tivat calendar, running from mid-June to late August and standing as the town's most important cultural event across that entire window.
