The International Rai Festival (Festival Rai de l'Oriental) has run in Oujda since 2007, cementing the city's reputation as the capital of Rai music. Held at Place du Stade d'Honneur under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, its 2026 edition ran July 22-25, drawing nearly 150,000 spectators across its evenings and around 15 million views on the festival's digital platforms, organized by the Association for the Management of Cultural Affairs of Oujda-Angad.

Oujda has claimed the title of Rai music's capital for decades, but it was the launch of the International Rai Festival in 2007 that gave that claim an annual, large-scale civic expression.
