Tetouan Mediterranean Cinema Festival in Tetouan
The Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival has run since 1985, organized since 2006 by its own dedicated foundation, and remains one of Morocco's longest-standing cinema events. Held each spring in Tetouan, it promotes Mediterranean cinematography through a spirit of exchange, screening feature and documentary competition films alongside special sessions and career tributes that reflect the city's identity as a longtime center for music and visual arts.
Tetouan has long thought of itself as a city shaped by exchange, sitting close to the Strait of Gibraltar with a cultural history that pulls from both Moroccan and Andalusian influences.
