Maputo Street Art Festival in Maputo neighborhoods

The Maputo Street Art Festival is an international street-art event staged across several of the capital's neighbourhoods rather than a single venue. Its inaugural edition ran under the motto (Re)Creating Narratives, combining mural painting, community theatre, dance, poetry and youth workshops in areas including Mafalala, Maxaquene and Chamanculo.

The Maputo Street Art Festival launched as an International Street Art Festival built around a simple premise: rather than importing murals into a single showcase district, spread the entire programme across several of the capital's residential neighbourhoods and let each community host part of the event.
