Damara Cultural Festival in Khorixas/Brandberg area

The Damara Cultural Festival is held in and around Khorixas, the former capital of the Damaraland bantustan in Namibia's Kunene Region, celebrating the language, dance and history of the Damara people near the foot of the Brandberg mountain.

In the shadow of the Brandberg, the granite massif the Damara call Dâures, or 'burning mountain' for the glow it takes on at sunset, the small Kunene Region town of Khorixas hosts a festival dedicated to the people who have called this landscape home for generations.
