Kathmandu Pride Parade in Kathmandu
Kathmandu Pride Parade refers to Nepal's dedicated pride march, held on the second Saturday of June and organized by the Queer Youth Group with the Queer Rights Collective. First held in 2019, it marked Nepal's first independent pride parade separate from older festival-linked LGBT marches.
On June 29, 2019, around four hundred people gathered at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu and marched toward New Baneshwar carrying rainbow, bisexual, transgender, genderqueer, genderfluid, and intersex pride flags, along with slogans written in four different languages.
