Muktinath Yatra Festival in Muktinath/Mustang
Muktinath Yatra is the pilgrimage to one of the world's highest temples, an ancient Vishnu shrine at 3,800 meters in Mustang district revered jointly by Hindus and Buddhists. Pilgrims travel to the site, known in Tibetan as Chumig Gyatsa, seeking moksha, or spiritual liberation, at the foot of Thorong La pass.
At the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang district, at an altitude of 3,800 meters, stands one of the highest and most religiously layered temples in the world.
