SAIL Amsterdam is a five-day maritime festival held roughly once every five years, bringing tall ships and historic vessels into the IJ waterway in the heart of the city. First held in 1975 to mark Amsterdam's 700th anniversary, the most recent edition in 2025 drew an estimated 2.5 million visitors, and the next edition is scheduled for 2030.
