The story

WorldPride Amsterdam in Amsterdam

WorldPride Amsterdam runs from July 25 to August 8, 2026, combining WorldPride with EuroPride for the first time in a single host city, and expanding Amsterdam's usual early-August Pride weekend into a two-week citywide program. The event includes the traditional Canal Parade on August 1, a Human Rights Conference, and concerts on Museumplein, with organizers projecting large international attendance.

WorldPride began in Rome in 2000, a large-scale international Pride event drawing roughly 250,000 marchers despite opposition from the Vatican, and it established a template later host cities would follow: an opening and closing ceremony, an expanded pride parade, and a human rights conference, all coordinated by the global federation InterPride.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Amsterdam is hosting WorldPride and EuroPride simultaneously in 2026, a combination InterPride, the event's global governing body, awarded the city in November 2022 alongside Washington D

02

The mystery stays covered

For the milestone edition, organizers are building a one-off structure called the WorldPride Stadion, roughly 10,000 temporary seats erected along the Prinsengracht so spectators can watch the Canal Parade's boats sail directly past, an expansion of the city's normal Canal Parade viewing that organizers describe as a once-in-a-generation addition

03

The city starts moving

Beyond the parade, the program folds in over a dozen dedicated community strands, including Trans Pride, Youth Pride, Sport Pride and Bi+ Pride, alongside a formal Human Rights Conference at the historic Beurs van Berlage, giving the event a policy and advocacy dimension well beyond its parades and concerts
