Den Bosch Carnival in Den Bosch

Carnival in 's-Hertogenbosch transforms the city into the fictional village of Oeteldonk each year, a tradition dating to 1882. For three days from Sunday to Tuesday, residents dress as farmers in blue smocks and red sashes, welcome a prince who arrives by train, and follow a mock-village hierarchy of local characters, making it one of the most distinctive carnival traditions in the Netherlands.
